Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Sunday said education was a prerequisite for the growth and development of society.
"Over the past two and a half months, I'm visiting every nook and corner of the state and regions especially Kangra, Una, Kullu and Chamba personally see the pace of development," said Virbhadra Singh while before a public meeting here Kangra district. Previously, he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects to the tune of Rs.25 crore in the Kangra district.
He said: "Education is the most important need for growth and development of an individual and any society. The current state government has opened 17 schools - and also in rural areas - more than many schools ".
"Our motto is to educate the girl child," said the prime minister.
He said that currently all its district and regional hospitals have many educational institutions.
Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes said that the government was pursuing the Centre for funds and share the state under MNREGA.
Transport Minister Himachal Pradesh Iraklis Bali thanked the Chief Minister for laying the foundation stone of the opening and development projects worth Rs.25 crore for the Assembly segment especially in the area of Chang.
He said Himachal Pradesh state was a special category, but the flow of adequate funding from the central government was not enough.
